Ravi Parikh, MD, MPP, FACP, of Emory University and the Editor-in-Chief of ASCO AI in Oncology, spoke with Rashad Ismayilov, MD, of Baskent University in Ankara, Turkey, during the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting about his poster presentation, which looked at the awareness, attitudes, and experiences of patients with cancer and caregivers regarding the use of generative AI tools. The survey revealed independent predictors of generative AI use for cancer information as well as divergent usage patterns between patients and caregivers.
